I, Lori DeBartolo, founder and broker of RealEstateListsingsXchange.com first began my real estate career as a licensed real estate agent in Michigan in the fall of 1996 under my maiden name of Vander Ark. I began by selling residential new construction shortly after college in 1997. I became quite successful at selling vacant lots, new builds and spec. homes. I looked to take on a new challenge of cosmetically and mechanically contracting out work on handyman specials that I began buying in Grand Rapids, and in 1998 opened an L.L.C. Realizing I had a natural niche for locating great deals from the internet, reviewing what needed to be done to make a profit, buying and renovating homes and apartments in need of cosmetic and mechanical face lifts, I began to purchase more fixer uppers.
In 2004 I became licensed as a real estate broker in the state of Michigan where I reside with my son Eddie and husband Ed, a dentist. My solid business background in real estate combined with my family values of hardwork, perseverance, and vision to accomplish are "key" to my formula for success. I decided to go public on the internet in September 2007, with the vision of attracting real estate investors to investing in my lucrative career of buying foreclosures, handyman specials, and renovating the distressed properties. Ideally if banks contact me in Michigan, to fix up and list foreclosures in Michigan when the bankers first obtained the bank repossession. I could work with the bank to fix up and restore the homes to the properties natural beauty and market value, saving banks millions in losses.
For now, I will continue to buy distressed residential properties with investors backing me financially, as I progress to commercial opportunities as well.
